Street Performance Competition
The competition of street performances (e.g., juggling and pantomime) which are mainly presented on the street and on stage is one of the features of Kobe Biennale. Physical expressions and special techniques used in street performances are viewed as art, and performers compete to demonstrate their artistic excellence.
- ■First screening
- The screening committee examines films (DVD/videos) submitted.
- ■Second screening
- (1) Date: October 1 (Saturday) and 2 (Sunday), 2011
(2) Venue: DUO KOBE (DUO Dome/Sun Porta Square )
(3) Screening procedure
Eight applicants who have passed the first screening present their performances at the venue, and the Director of Kobe Biennale 2011 and judges selected from among citizens will decide the winners of Grand and Semi-grand Prizes .
(4) Prizes and prize money
Kobe Biennale Grand Prize (1 winner) --- 1 million yen
Semi-grand Prize (1 winner) --- 300,000 yen
