Invited Creators Exhibition REFLEXIONEN – Light, Color and Form
In commemoration of the 150th Anniversary of Japanese-German Friendship in 2011, with the cooperation of the Goethe Institute Osaka, we will exhibit new works by Otto Piene and Sadamasa Motonaga, who are the members of ZERO and Gutai Bijutsu Kyokai (Concrete Art Association), respectively, which are groups of avant-garde artists active in Japan and Germany from the 1950s to the 1970s. In this connection, we will also introduce two artists of the next generation who have been exposed to the trend of the times. The exhibition’s title REFLEXIONEN not only means “reflection” in German but also represents the resonance between things and between people.
At the same time, we will also hold an exhibition of works by two other creators who were covered in Pickup Artist Introduction Program -- Channel, a program launched by the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art in 2011 to introduce younger artists.
